SAN FRANCISCO -- Now shipping are the latest updates to the Seed Mobile app and Seed Delivery module, two cloud-based management solutions for office coffee service and other delivery businesses marketed by Cantaloupe Systems.
Seed Mobile is an iOS app optimized for single-hand operation. It now enables OCS route drivers to create and edit delivery invoices in the field. Recipients can sign with their fingers and receive invoices via email immediately after delivery. By enabling paperless OCS operations, Cantaloupe says the upgraded Seed Delivery program saves time and postage, and reduces errors. The new Seed Mobile app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store at no additional cost by any customer using Seed Delivery.
In addition to Seed Mobile, other elements of Cantaloupe's Seed Cloud received an upgrade, including warehouse management functions. Inventory troubleshooting, for instance, can now be done by means of one-click drilldown, establishing accountability for shortages.
OCS and vending inventorying is also easier with the update, according to Cantaloupe. Labor is reportedly reduced by faster inventorying of large warehouses, handheld improvements, better support for bulk pre-pick workflows, and the ability to tag partial inventories with notes like "drinks" or "snacks."
The latest Seed Cloud enables purchase order entry using Cantaloupe's Web-based interface or by importing data from an Excel spreadsheet, enabling the use of custom formulas for order calculation and reconciliation with receiving.
The upgrade also speeds up configuration at accounts where certain machine types (e.g. cold food) are always commission-free. This allows operators to change commission without per-machine exceptions, and simplifies setup of new machines.
The Seed Mobile upgrade also improves OCS collections by showing past orders' payment status on all new orders, and simplifying emailing and printing of invoices and statements. It also facilitates handling of credit invoices, and provides seven other customer-requested usability improvements including easier access to photos captured by Seed Mobile.
The release is the seventh major upgrade to Seed Cloud in the past 12 months and is automatically available to all Seed Cloud customers with no fee or additional software to install. Full details are available at the Seed Cloud users' Web page, after log in.
