Canadas City Coin Vending Adopts Cantaloupes Seed Office

SAN FRANCISCO -- One of Canada's largest vending operators has adopted Cantaloupe Systems' cloud-based Seed Office as its vending management system. Calgary-based City Coin Vending Services Ltd. operates more than 1,100 vending machines on six routes, along with office coffee services, serving 250-plus clients.

Seed Office manages commissions, taxes, warehouse, cash accountability and other back-office tasks. It includes the Seed Mobile driver handheld app for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices. Optimized for one-handed operation, Seed Mobile helps drivers service more machines in less time, and includes features like Video Audit for cash accountability and Photo Audit for avoiding costly field audits.

"We've had our current piecemeal solution for about six years now and it just wasn't working for us anymore," said City Coin general manager Shane Burleigh. "Our VMS provider was still running in a client/server configuration with a partial cloud offering. By making this move to Cantaloupe, we're confident that we've chosen the most mature and modern solution out there."

Having integrated cashless payments as an option was also a key factor in City Coin's choosing Cantaloupe. "Once Canada's regulatory agencies give the green light to popular mobile payment solutions, we'll make that move," he said.
