Calbee America, Inc. has opened a Research and Development Innovation Center in Madera, California, according to a press release. This facility will support the company's growth in the Asian-flavored snack market and expand its flagship Harvest Snaps brand.

The R&D center will leverage Japanese technology to develop innovative snacks, including Asian-inspired flavors and better-for-you options under the Harvest Snaps banner. The facility will accommodate up to 15 researchers and will focus on developing products that meet various dietary needs, such as organic, gluten-free, non-GMO and kosher.

"We are excited to expand our innovation capabilities with this new R and D center," Takuro Kris Tatsumi, director of R and D at Calbee America, said in the release. "This will allow us to explore new ingredients, flavors and textures to bring exciting new snacks to the market."
