Although they dropped the State of the Industry summit from the agenda several years ago, association officials say the upcoming 66th annual NBVA convention is the perfect time to bring it back. The event was wildly popular with an earlier generation of bulk vending operators.
The revamped summit will use a panel format moderated by former NBVA president Steven Schechner of Capital Vending (Florence, AL). Schechner said the State of the Industry summit will be led by leading vending operators from across the country. They will be addressing some of the most pressing problems and unique opportunities currently facing the bulk vending industry, he added.
"This event is more valuable now because operators and suppliers face new challenges," he said. "What we're hoping to do is spark a lively discussion on topics critical to today's operator. They are, among other issues, inventory control, profitability, locating, merchandise pricing, taxes, and catering to new and expanding demographic segments."
Details of NBVA's 2016 convention may be found at nbva.org. The association's meeting and trade show are collocated with Amusement Expo International, which is owned by the Amusement and Music Operators Association and American Amusement Machine Association. AEI is is managed by William T. Glasgow Inc. (Mokena, IL).
