Roadside retail phenomenon Buc-ees is expanding its beverage offerings through a partnership with Costa Coffee, introducing automated coffee kiosks at locations across the U.S., according to a Chron.com report.
The machines, recently spotted at multiple travel centers, are designed to deliver barista-style drinks through a self-service format.
The Costa Coffee units allow customers to select from a wide range of beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte and flat white, using a touchscreen interface.
Drinks are prepared in roughly 90 seconds, with customization options for size, milk type, flavoring and sweetness. The machines can produce dozens of drink varieties, creating hundreds of possible combinations when paired with Buc-ee's existing offerings.
Buc-ee's has already built a reputation for its expansive, highly customizable coffee bar, which features a wide selection of syrups, creamers and add-ons. The popularity of its beverage program has also led to the development of Buc-ee's Beanery, a standalone coffee concept in Texas that emphasizes speed and convenience rather than traditional café dwell time.
