Broomfield, Colorado has debuted a reverse vending machine for aluminum recycling as part of a partnership between Ball Aluminum Cups, Copper Mountain Resort, and the POWDR Adventure Lifestyle Corporation, according to a press release.
The machine was installed in February at Jack's Slopeside Grill, a restaurant at the Copper Mountain Resort, and will be available through the end of the season in April.
The installation is part of the resort's "Play Forever" sustainability initiative, and users have a chance to win Play Forever merchandise by scanning a QR code after using the machine.
"Installing the reverse vending machine at Copper Mountain Resort is an incredible opportunity to incentivize recycling and educate consumers about aluminum's sustainable properties to help protect one of Colorado's beloved mountain towns," Michelle Fick, VP of Commercial at Ball Aluminum Cups, said in the release. "At Ball, we recognize the power of ski resorts and other outdoor adventure centers to drive change and believe interacting with the RVM will encourage guests to make more sustainable everyday choices while enhancing their experience at the resort."
