The Brooklyn Museum is now home to Mystry Mart, a unique vending machine dispensing original art and "one-of-a-kind oddities," according to a PIX 11 report. This art installation features works by local NYC artists, including paintings, prints, comics, jewelry and more, all packaged within repurposed chip bags. The artists set their own prices and control their inventory.
Mystry Mart, created by artists Victoria and Eugene, aims to provide emerging and underrepresented artists with a platform to showcase and sell their work. The project, which originated at the Brooklyn Art Cave in Bushwick, is a collaboration with illustrator and cartoonist Lizzy Itzkowitz. The creators hope to expand Mystry Mart to reach a wider audience and include more artists.
"Our mission has always been to give emerging and underrepresented artists a way to sell their work, gain recognition, and do so on their own terms," Victoria told the news outlet.
