Brokerhouse Distributors Acquires Laniel Canada

BURNABY, BC -- Brokerhouse Distributors has acquired Laniel Canada and its Ontario-based Laniel BBC subsidiary. Terms were not disclosed.

With its affiliates André Labbée and Vending Products of Canada, the acquisition makes Brokerhouse Distributors the leading supplier of equipment and food and beverage products to vending and office coffee service operators across Canada.

Laniel Canada and BBC are the largest distributors of commercial beverage and coffee equipment in eastern Canada. They also market water filtration systems, vending machines, micromarket systems and accessories. Laniel also maintains a technical support network for the equipment it distributes.

Brokerhouse said the acquisition significantly increases its business in the foodservice, filter coffee and espresso equipment sectors. The deal is also expected to strengthen Brokerhouse's national service network and consolidate its position as a national supplier to the vending and office coffee industry.

For the Laniel team, Brokerhouse said the transaction will provide access to additional resources to support growth projects and to support service centers in all regions of the country. All Laniel employees servicing customers will remain in their current roles.
