Coffee prices declined Monday on weakness in the Brazilian real and other factors, according to a barchart.com report.
September arabica coffee closed down 7.20 (-3.27%) while September ICE Robusta coffee closed down 15 (-0.76%).
The Brazilian real fell by 2.01% against the U.S. dollar, boosting export selling by Brazil coffee producers.
In addition, Brazilian coffee farmers picked 48% of the 2022 coffee crop by July 5.
The International Coffee Organization reported last Tuesday that 2022 coffee exports for October through May were up 1.3% year-on-year, another bearish sign. In addition, the Colombia Coffee Growers Federation on Wednesday reported Colombia's June exports increased 6%.
