LAS VEGAS -- Randolph-Sheppard Vendors of America released its "healthy" vending white paper this week at its 2015 Sagebrush Conference here. Titled "Misinformation Shaping Public Policy: Healthy Vending and the Randolph-Sheppard Program," the paper can be viewed here.
RSVA is an advocacy group for blind vendors operating concession and vending businesses at federal and state properties. Its annual Sagebrush educational conference, taking place Feb. 9 to 13, is attended by blind vendors and other industry members, along with government officials.
"The debate over healthy vending profitability has been central to the lack of healthy vending implementation by blind vendors," said RSVA president Dan Sippl. "RSVA felt the time was ripe to address the profitability issue and create a positive dialogue on healthy vending within the blind vendor community."
Pinky Harris, the paper's author, added: "We believe that the white paper offers a foundation for furthering the healthy vending discussion with the benefit of credible data."
