Bike Fixtation Debuts Wall-Mounted Vending Machine

MINNEAPOLIS -- Bike Fixtation is rolling out a new wall-mounted vending machine designed and manufactured at its headquarters here. The high-security vending machine is designed for outdoor public use.

It is available in two standard vending configurations: inner tubes only or tubes, parts and accessories, both of which are accompanied by a tested product planogram showing where within the machine each item should be placed. The modular tray and coil delivery system also supports customized planograms. A modular product display window makes product samples viewable to customers.

The machine can accept credit cards, bills and coins, and can be programmed to validate currencies from around the world. Using a credit card reader in the machine is the most secure option; and because it needs to be online it can be remotely monitored. A product sensor guarantees delivery, or provides a refund.

Security is a primary feature of this machine, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor operations. A drawbar lock system, heavy-gauge steel body and shatter- resistant product display window, backed by a steel enclosure, make forced entries extremely difficult, according to the company.

Available in line- or battery-powered models, the machine can be installed virtually anywhere; alongside a busy urban bike path, secure bike parking room or rural trailhead.

It's available in 10 different colors, comes with a two-year warranty and is ADA compliant. The price tag is $3,175 for both power options and payment modules are sold a la carte.
