ATLANTIC CITY, NJ -- Vistar Mid-Atlantic broke exhibitor records and drew industry professionals from more than 240 operating companies at its biggest open house to date. It was held last month at Harrah's Resort here, following a lavish cocktail reception the night before.
On display by 115 exhibitors were the latest food and beverage products, sold by Vistar's Swedesboro, NJ-based mid-Atlantic branch, along with new equipment and technology for vending, office coffee and micromarket operations.
Vending operators and product brokers came from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC, and northern Virginia. Manufacturers' representatives came from all points in the country.
"The hot items were healthy, healthy and more healthy," said Vistar northeast region sales manager Mike Mullin. "Items that meet our 'Good to Go' requirements drew the most interest, as more and more operators and being asked to sell healthy items."
Introduced last year, Good To Go is Vistar's online resource that informs operators about snacks, carried by the distributor, that meet the U.S. Department of Agriculture's 35-10-35 guidelines. It also lists items that are organic, gluten-free, organic and all-natural.
