HYPOLUXO, FL -- New from Benchmark Games is the Power Drop X-treme single-player ball drop game (PDX for short). It stands 13'6" high, assuring ready visibility from just about anywhere in the arcade.
Despite its imposing height, the Power Drop X-treme is sized to fit a surprisingly large variety of locations. "PDX is a pretty compact model, when you think about it," said Benchmark chief executive Al Kress. Its footprint measures a modest 54" x 54" -- a dimension that he believes will enable PDX to win applause as best-earning game per square foot of floor space.
The game's high visibility is further enhanced by trademark brightly illuminated LEDs, and the visual impact is enhanced by dynamic sound. The 13-1/2-ft.-high marquee can be lowered to 11'9", using the factory installation brackets. It comes with a one-year warranty.
In use, the player attempts to time the release of a ball suspended near the top of the enclosure so that it will fall through one of a series of moving apertures. Targets can include Bonus, Mystery Value and Ticket Win Value holes. Since a ball that misses its intended target will bounce around until it drops into a hole, a positive outcome is ensured every time. If the ball drops into an Add Bonus Ball hole, the bonus ball count is incremented. If the ball falls into a Drop Bonus Balls hole, all the bonus balls fall and the game becomes a "multi-play extravaganza," according to the manufacturer. And bouncing the ball up onto a platform and into the Monster Bonus hole rewards the player with a satisfying cumulative bonus.
Benchmark's new PDX is supplied with standard Intelli-Triple Ticket dispensers, and the game's parameters are adjustable by the operator.
