Bay Tek Entertainment, a manufacturer of coin operated games, is supplying plastic for face shields being manufactured by its sister company, Coex, out of Appleton Wisconsin, according to a press release. These face shields are reusable, and they protect N95 masks, allowing them to be worn longer.
Coex is cooperating with about 1,200 3D-printing volunteers across the U.S, supplying PETG filament to help them print face mask shield components. Coex is also printing these components and working on getting the plastic shields manufactured as well, with Bay Tek as its plastic supplier.
"Customers are ecstatic that we have filament ready to ship for these efforts, because Amazon currently has a target ship date of April 21st," Bob Rutten, director of aales and operations at Coex, said in the press release. "We're actually shipping same day for orders placed before noon."
