LIGHT SPEED:Barron Games' Anna Bacorn (l.) and Alyssa Chawgo show off their company's new Catch The Light Combo game at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2015 in Orlando, FL. The one- or two-player game features intuitive yet challenging gameplay for a wide player demographic. |
The game's distinguishing features are its table-like form factor and simple gameplay. Players press the playfield buttons as they light in random patterns. The goal is to hit them as fast as possible to gain points; pressing the wrong button subtracts points from the score. Gameplay can be divided into rounds, with total points for three rounds (the default number) calculated at session's end. Parameters in each round can be adjusted by the operator.
"Catch The Light Combo was a huge hit at IAAPA Attractions Expo in November," said Barron's Alyssa Chawgo. "It was something new and different that showgoers seemed to gravitate toward."
Flashing lights and bright colors draw people to the game, while its speed and competitive nature make them stay and play, Chawgo noted.
Measuring 50" L. x 31" H. x 34" W., Barron's new game is designed to fit into a large range of locations, from bars to FECs. Its setup weight is 150 lbs., making it portable. Catch The Light Combo employs bright flashing LEDs on its cabinet and in its buttons, catchy sound effects and dual Entropy ticket dispensers. It is also equipped with a coin comparator, and supports optional bill acceptors and card readers.
