ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- Bandai Namco Amusement America drew crowds at New York Comic Con with its Star Wars Battle Pod flatscreen edition. More than 167,000 fans packing New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center for the 2015 NYCC had the opportunity to get a first look at the new 42" flatscreen version of the popular game. BNAA was front and center in the Crystal Palace lobby of the Javits Center, with eight seats for the fans to play.
NYCC was the third occasion this year at which Bandai Namco promoted Star Wars: Battle Pod directly to its fans. Other events were April's Star Wars celebration at the Anaheim, CA, convention center, the D23 Expo ("the ultimate Disney fan event") in August also in Anaheim and in October at NYCC.

"These shows give us an opportunity to drive the fans into the locations of those companies that have purchased a Star Wars Battle Pod," said Bandai Namco Amusement America senior vice-president Frank Cosentino. "I am always amazed at the number of fans we encounter who have not been to an FEC in quite some time and after playing, promise to seek out their local fun spot."
Star Wars Battle Pod flatscreen edition features a 42" high-definition flatscreen display to transport players to a galaxy far, far away. The 20-degree tilt of the monitor and seat creates a sense of readiness for liftoff. Players take control of some of the most memorable vehicles in the Star Wars universe, and pilot them through four of the greatest scenes from the movie franchise -- plus one level designed specifically for this game.
According to Bandai Namco, a noteworthy new feature of the flatscreen edition is that the game can be linked. This new mode allows two players to cooperate in completing the levels while competing with each other to determine who is the "leader" and who is the "wingman."
"The only thing better than playing Star Wars Battle Pod flatscreen edition is playing it with a friend," Cosentino observed.
Bandai Namco Amusement America Inc. (BNAA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings (USA) Inc..
