Namco, Time Crisis 5ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- Bandai Namco Amusement America has released a free upgrade kit for its popular Time Crisis 5 game. The Mastermind Edition kit is available from BNAA distributors nationwide.

Time Crisis 5 began shipping in January of this year. The new kit expands gameplay to six full stages, each with a boss character to duel; major Boss Battles occur at the third and sixth stages. To encourage repeat play by casual gamers, the player can choose to begin at the first or fourth stage.

According to the manufacturer, Time Crisis 5 is the first game in the long-running franchise to have a dual-pedal system. The novel Time Crisis pedal enables the player, in the role of protagonist Richard Miller, to shoot at enemies while it's pressed down and to take cover from return fire by releasing it. The new implementation in Time Crisis 5 offers two pedals that enable the player to fire from either of two positions, chosen by stepping on either the left or the right pedal. The dual-pedal system is demonstrated in a video available at BNAA's YouTube channel, which is embedded below.

Also new in Time Crisis 5 are several enhancements to the optoelectronic pistols. The gun controllers now incorporate a weapon-toggle button to allow players to switch pistols during a battle. The gun recoil simulation mechanism also has been redesigned to ensure strong feedback response while reducing maintenance requirements.

Bandai Namco America Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings (USA) Inc. Its popular coin amusements include such arcade favorites as Star Wars: Battle Pod, Lost Land Adventure and Deadstorm Pirates SE, as well as redemption equipment like Pac-Man Swirl and Goal Line Rush. Also available from BDAA for the expanding legion of nostalgic videogame enthusiasts is Pac-Man's Arcade Party, offering players a choice of 12 vintage games in a single cabinet. Selections include Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Galaxian, Pac-Mania, Galaga '88, Mappy, Xevious, Rolling Thunder, Dragon Spirit, Rally-X and Bosconian.
