ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- Many service issues affecting video gaming terminals can be prevented by keeping the customer-facing external components clean, according to the technicians at American Vending Sales. AVS distributes equipment for the Illinois electronic gaming market, and emphasizes that the correct cleaning products and procedures will avert downtime on touchscreens, banknote acceptors and card readers.
AVS hosted operators and their technicians at a preventive maintenance seminar on April 22. It is the exclusive Illinois VGT distributor for International Game Technology. AVS game shop manager Chris Pertle and technician James Cummings instructed the audience on how to properly set up, clean and maintain IGT gaming machines and M3T redemption kiosks.
"There are a number of service calls we receive that can be avoided with simple preventive maintenance practices," Pertle said. "Our goal is to give operators and their technicians the tools and education to help them keep their games and kiosks up and earning."
AVS gave seminar-goers samples of some the maintenance products available from its parts department. The distributor recommends that operators purchase its fully stocked preventive maintenance kits.
AVS will be hosting a second gaming equipment seminar on Thursday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield, IL. Call (847) 439-9400 for more information.
