GEPPS CROSS, Australia -- Sporting classic pinball machines and videogames, GameRoom Essentials was a popular local destination in this Adelaide suburb. But after inspectors deemed it a fire risk, operator Danny Daly was forced to shut the location's doors permanently.
Reluctant to see the arcade go away, local officials and individuals have since mounted an aggressive campaign to relocate the coin-op venue.
"The support from people I don't even know, who haven't even been to GameRoom is just incredible, especially those who are offering financial assistance or helping us to move," Daly told a local reporter.
To date, the odds are looking good for GameRoom Essentials' relocation. An Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign has raised more than $2,000.
