GUANGZHOU, China - The organizers of the Asia Amusement & Attractions Expo report that the 2018 show continued the event's 13-year history of growth. This year's AAA took place at the China Import & Export Fair Complex here.

Featuring themed areas for exhibits focusing on theme parks and attractions, children's amusements, water parks and inflatables, arcade games and virtual reality/augmented reality equipment, this year's show attracted more than 850 exhibitors occupying 100,000 sq.m. (1,076,391 sq.ft.). There was a notable increase in the percentage of exhibitors from overseas, which rose 30% this year. Increased participation caused the event to move to a larger exhibit hall this year.

Educational opportunities available to showgoers included the 2018 Asia Theme Park Development Forum, hosted by China Theme Park Construction Senior Group. Focusing on creative theme park management, the forum was held two days ahead of AAA 2018. It featured a series of informative lectures and panel discussions presented by 20 outstanding speakers. More than 400 AAA Show registrants attended.

Another highlight of the forum was the field trip to the production base of Dalang Water Park Equipment, where forum participants got a close look at cutting-edge production technology used to manufacture popular aquatic attractions.

An innovative public relations event also accompanied the show: the Grandeur International Xuanle Festival, which was organized to entertain local residents of all ages and engage the exhibitors in direct conversations with game players. It consisted of a series of fun-filled activities, including Shikewei Go-kart Racing, 2018 China Electronic Game Super League play, an IDA International Darts Championship, the Exhibitor New Product Launch and  more. The event was posted to some of China's most popular live streaming platform including Tik Tok, Kuaishou, Bilibili.tv, Huoshan.com and others.

Asia Amusement & Attractions Expo is organized by the Guangdong Foreign Economic Trade Enterprises Association, the Guangdong and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Association for the Advancement of Information Communication, the Asia Entertainment Center Owners Association and the Guangdong Grandeur International Exhibition Group. Among its supporters are the Entertainment Services and Technology Association, the Themed Entertainment Association, the Australian Amusement Leisure and Recreation Association, the Zhongshan Gaming Amusement Association (ZGAA) and the National Amusement Machine Operators of Australia.

Exhibitors polled after the show overwhelmingly agreed that it was worthwhile; 94% reported obtaining valuable sales leads while 89% booked onsite or follow-up orders. An exhibitor on average met more than 150 domestic and 20 overseas buyers on each day of the Expo.

Next year's Asia Amusement & Attractions Expo is scheduled for May 10-12, 2019, again at the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. Information may be had at the show's website, www.aaaexpos.com.
