SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Apriva said it has completed EMV certification with Global Payments for Globalcom Engineering's BV1000 device connecting through the Apriva gateway. This certification enables vendors in unattended retail environments to increase secure payment options to their customers.
The certification enables the use of EMV chip card technology on such major credit card brands as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Engineered for outdoor use, Globalcom BV1000 devices can withstand extreme weather conditions; they are frequently used at self-service payment stations in parking garages and car washes.
"Unattended solutions should offer end-users the safety, security and choice in how they want to pay," said Apriva senior vice-president of sales and marketing communications Stacey Finley Tappin.
Apriva's Integration Services Program allows independent software vendors and mobile and embedded developers to implement credit, debit, EBT, loyalty and closed-loop payment processing into their solutions. Once integrated, applications and POS solutions can communicate with Apriva's gateway.
Apriva says it has relationships with more than 35 payment processors in North America, along with all of the leading wireless carriers. It works with more than 1,100 merchant acquirers and ISOs across the United States and Canada, giving merchants and partners the choice to deploy end-to-end solutions best fit for their business.
