SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Apriva has announced an agreement with international payment processor Global Payments (Atlanta, GA) under which Global will provide "white-labeled" EMV mobile payment solutions to its U.S. clients through Apriva's AprivaPay Plus system.

AprivaPay Plus allows Apple and Android devices to be used as mobile points of sale, enabling merchants to leverage their existing devices to meet customer demand for mobile payment acceptance. The streamlined application is said to be ideal for small and midsize merchants, and can be used in mobile or storefront venues.

AprivaPay Plus is designed to support EMV chip card and MSR (magnetic stripe readers) and to deliver cloud-based inventory, multi-user capability and enhanced reporting features to merchants through its online Web companion portal. It's compatible with the latest devices and operating systems, and is said to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.

"Merchants that haven't embraced a mobile solution risk missing out on users who expect to be able to pay with their mobile device as well as via traditional methods," said Global Payments senior vice-president of global product and innovation Frank T. Young. "AprivaPay Plus complements our existing suite of mobile solutions by giving our merchants the tools needed to offer a cutting-edge mobile solution, designed to provide the transaction security EMV affords."

Apriva senior vice-president of North America sales and marketing communications Stacey Finley Tappin emphasized that today's society is increasingly dependent on mobile technologies, and that payments are no exception. "By working with companies like Global Payments, we are making EMV-capable mobile payment solutions available to a wider market, enabling merchants to securely serve their customer base no matter what payment methods the consumer prefers," she said.
