ROSEMONT, IL - The Amusement and Music Operators Association is putting the finishing touches on its 2018 On the Road program, which is set for the Rosemont Hilton Hotel here from Oct. 26 through 28. Program registrants will be able to tour the factories of Arachnid 360 (Loves Park, IL) and Stern Pinball (Elk Grove Village, IL) starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, for an up-close look at today's amusement technology, design and manufacture.

The formal program gets under way at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, with a keynote address by Dr. Michael Kasavana, National Automatic Merchandising Association-endowed professor in hospitality business emeritus at Michigan State University (E. Lansing). Dr. Kasavana has participated fully in the shift of merchandise vending to cashless payment and related technologies, and has written extensively on the subject. He will explore "Cashing in on Cashless: Vending and Micromarket Channel Experiences."

This will be followed by further exploration of the subject. A panel exchange will discuss "Navigating Cashless Technology in Today's Digital World" at 10:45 a.m., and Heartland MicroPayments will present an overview of "Cashless – What's on the Horizon" at 11:30 a.m.

Following a networking luncheon, Taylor McGlamery, director of strategy for  Trustworkz (Atlanta, GA), will extend the inquiry to online marketing in a presentation at 1 p.m. This session will explore  effective use of social networks and optimizing an operation's website.

At 2 p.m., Payment Alliance International (Louisville, KY), PDQ Merchant Enterprises (McHenry, IL) and Venco Business Solutions (Bland, VA) will tackle a range of topics related to automated teller machine operation at a wide-ranging  ATM Panel Exchange.

Rounding out the first day's seminars will be a round-table idea exchange on managing efficiencies for optimum performance led by Chip O'Hara, Midwest Coin Concepts (Waite Park, MN) and Sam Westgate, J&J Ventures (Decatur, IL).

On Sunday morning, Oct. 28, an in-depth presentation of  strategies for mastering effective communication in the workplace will be led by Kara McClure, SPHR/MSW (Senior Professional Human Resources/Master of Social Work).
