NEW YORK CITY -- Hold the date! The Amusement and Music Owners Association of New York will host its annual industry gala on May 4 at Uncle Jack's Steakhouse in midtown Manhattan.
This year, the coin machine association is reviving its Man of the Year ceremony. Allen Weisberg (pictured at right), founder of photobooth giant Apple Industries (Greenvale, NY), will be honored in conjunction with AMOA-NY's fourth annual Jukebox Artist of the Year Award presentation.
"AMOA-NY's tribute to Allen Weisberg recognizes how in recent years he has demonstrated remarkable entrepreneurial skill: turning a tired, distressed industry asset into an exciting imaginative amusement machine," said AMOA-NY president Ken Goldberg, Emerson Amusement Co. (Woodside, NY). "Apple's Face Place photobooths are popular among operators around the world." | READ MORE
The annual fête is a major fundraising event for AMOA-NY, a nonprofit group that represents the interests of businesses that own and install coin-operated amusement and music equipment in locations throughout New York State. The association retains legal and government affairs professionals who have helped shape the coin machine industry statewide and nationally.
AMOA-NY is holding a special $1,500 per ticket raffle at this year's event. The prize is a brand new Face Place photobooth donated by Apple Industries. Only 10 tickets will be sold (each ticket includes two VIP tickets to the gala).
