LAS VEGAS -- On Sept. 1, a new management team will take control of the AMOA-National Dart Association, according to an announcement by NDA president Mary Lynn Lavine of Bullseye Inc. (Madison, WI). Jack Kelleher will become NDA's executive vice-president, replacing Leslie Murphy, who has been the association's executive director for the past 19 years. Kelleher is currently executive vice-president of the Amusement and Music Operators Association, and will exit that post in the fall. | SEE STORY

As part of the changeover, William T. Glasgow Inc. has been appointed as the management firm for NDA events, which climaxes every spring with the world-famous Team Dart tournament. WTG's Brian Glasgow, who manages the industry's Amusement Expo International, will oversee production of NDA's regional tournaments and Team Dart world championship. Before their collaboration in the amusement industry, Kelleher and Glasgow's careers intersected at the American Hardware Manufacturers Association, where Kelleher was communications director and Glasgow was tradeshow director. Team Dart is the first major sporting event that Glasgow will produce.

This year's Team Dart, set for April 22-27 at Bally's Las Vegas, will take place over six days, dramatically shorter than the 10-day-long events in recent years. Attracting more than 2,500 players from around the world, Team Dart is the largest international electronic soft-tip dart tournament. It covers all skill levels, from beginners to masters, and classifies players and teams according to their skill ratings. This scalability distinguishes NDA's tournament program from others.

Leading up to Team Dart are three regional tournaments held during the winter season. The 2016/17 regionals will be held in Sioux Falls, SD (Nov. 4-6), Billings, MT (Dec. 2-4) and Madison, WI (Jan.13-15). Regional tournaments, introduced in 2013, are open to any NDA-sanctioned player with 48 games played for an NDA operator. | READ MORE

NDA was founded 31 years ago by AMOA, but it is run as a separate not-for-profit association. It now represents 250 amusement operators and sanctions 45,000 players worldwide. Operators host leagues at their locations, which improves coin drop and location traffic. The association is sponsored by dartboard manufacturers Arachnid Inc., Cyberdine d.o.o., Gaelco Darts S.L. and NSM-Löwen Entertainment, as well as AMOA.

Following the transition this fall, the National Dart Association will move its headquarters from Indianapolis to Mokena, IL.
