Lori Schneider, executive vice president of the Amusement and Music Operators Association, sent a letter to federal lawmakers to thank them for establishing the Paycheck Protection Program, but advised them that it is not providing enough relief to make the industry solvent.
The letter said the eight week coverage period for the PPP loans is not long enough for bars, restaurants, bowling alleys, movie theaters and other entertainment venues to recover full operating capacity.
In addition, the letter asked that the program defer payroll tax payments for businesses utilizing PPP loan program.
The letter was sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Republican leader Kevin McCarthy, House Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Democratic leader Chuck Schumer.
