Some Oklahoma grocery stores now have the controversial ammunition vending machines, according to a PoncaCity Now report.
The city of Wetumka's attorney said a deal between the Super C Mart and the vending machine maker, American Rounds, was completed between private parties. American Rounds ammunition vending machines are expanding across the south and Midwest, and being met with some criticism from those who favor more regulations around firearms. But others see no issue.
"Honestly, then I see no problem with it. If it's monitored and it's like a system that scans ID and scans you and makes sure you are who you say you are, I don't think anything can go wrong," Natalie Akins, Wetumka resident, told the news outlet. "It's just the same as you buy it from the clerk."
American Rounds has stated the machines are safe and secure.
