PHILADELPHIA, PA -- AMI Entertainment Network introduced its NGX Infinity digital downloading jukebox at this year's Amusement Expo in Las Vegas. In a departure from recent design trends, the NGX Infinity is a free-standing model styled to evoke memories of yesterday's classic coin-operated phonographs.

Featuring a 1,000-W. 2-channel amplifier, the NGX Infinity incorporates a built-in sound system comprising a 12" powered subwoofer plus two 6" mid/bass speakers and two tweeters. An audio output transformer provides external speaker taps, including a 70-volt circuit. It is supplied with wired and infrared wireless remote controls.

Measuring 68-1/2"H. x 28"W. x 25" deep, the new jukebox is equipped with a 23.8". touchscreen HD screen for music selection and promotional display. Customizable upper and lower Infinity  LED lighting pulses in synchrony with the music.  The core computer package includes the motherboard, power supply and I/O controllers well as a solid-state hard drive, pre-installed with configurable selections of locally stored music. A hardwired broadband internet connection is required.

The pricing/credit system features a credit-card reader and single or dual MEI bill validators with 700-note capacities. A money meter is available, and Canadian and international options may be obtained through AMI distributors.

Optional accessories include a four-channel amplifier system, a second audio output transformer and a special-event switch. Also available are an RF remote kit, an infrared transmitter.

The new NGX Infinity will accommodate AMI's Music Video Kit . A mounting kit for television receivers also is available, as are a wireless router, a Verizon Wireless kit and a 56K PCIe modem.

The software that powers the AMI network enables jukebox patrons to access as many as  300 local albums, while offering millions of songs online with weekly updates over the broadband internet connection. Thousands of music videos also are available online with weekly updates when the AMI Music Video kit is installed and  video caching enabled. The software permits patrons to quickly find their favorite music, and suggests additional songs to accompany what they have already picked. Patrons also may automatically create a selection of one-credit albums by choosing a genre after operator setup. And AMI's 24/7 technical support can remotely view, diagnose and correct issues remotely.

AMI, originally National Automatic Music Instruments, built its first jukebox in 1927 and has remained in the forefront of jukebox design and manufacture ever since. As Rowe AMI, it pioneered add-on kits  with the 1967 PhonoVue, which could be mounted on and connected to compatible jukeboxes to offer 16mm. film clips synchronized with musical selections. Almost two decades later, the company unveiled a video attachment incorporating two VHS videotape players to offer music videos in suitable locations.
