PHILADELPHIA -- AMI Entertainment Network has released its annual list of top jukebox artists, songs and music videos for 2018.
The AMI network offers millions of hit songs to patrons at tens of thousands of jukebox venues across the U.S. and Canada. The most-played songs and videos at AMI locations represent a broad cross-section of what's popular among today's bar and restaurant patrons.
Every genre was represented in the AMI list of Top 10 New Songs for 2018. Drake led the category with three titles in the top 20. Cardi B, Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars, Migos and Post Malone each checked in with two songs in the top 20. Bad Wolves, Camila Cabello, Daddy Yankee, Justin Timberlake, Jason Aldean and Tyga rounded out the category.
AMI Music Video Jukeboxes continue to generate increases in coin-drop, as patrons love to see their favorite music videos played. AMI Entertainment Network evolved from National Automatic Music Co. (later renamed Automatic Musical Instruments), established in 1909 as a manufacturer of player pianos. It launched its first jukebox in 1927; it had a selector mechanism that enabled it to play both sides of a record. AMI's first 45-rpm long-playing microgroove jukeboxes appeared in 1952.
