PHILADELPHIA -- AMI Entertainment Network reports that it is deploying a "massive update" to the background music feature available in AMI jukeboxes. The distribution began in August and is scheduled for completion by the end of September.

The feature, designed to keep accounts content, and patrons entertained and engaged, enables jukebox operators to offer background music to create the desired musical ambience for any location with hours of configurable, fully licensed and affordable music. According to the music technology company, this capability dissuades clients from turning the jukebox off, encouraging their customers to take advantage of the jukebox's availability to play their own favorite selections.

With the update installed, the background music feature has access to an expansive library of licensed music from Sony, Warner Music Group and Universal, among other labels. Operators can control the genres that are played, program the delay between plays, adjust song popularity and set up a schedule, all from the jukebox's service screen.

The company, whose history dates back to 1901, was honored as Manufacturer of the Year in 2014 by the American Amusement Machine Association.
