CHICAGO, IL -- JULY 27, 2015 --The American Amusement Machine Charitable Foundation announced today the donation of $10,000 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, an independent not-for-profit organization that provides support for the families of military personnel and veterans that are lost in service or severely wounded. Intrepid Fallen Heroes is funded completely by donations made by the public.
AAMCF is a division of the American Amusement Machine Association. Founded in 1981, AAMA is an international nonprofit trade organization representing manufacturers, distributors and parts suppliers involved in the coin-operated amusement industry.
Rick Kirby, AAMA's 2014 Life Time Achievement award recipient, has requested that this be his charity of choice. With money raised in Kirby's honor a year ago, this donation is made in memory of Matthew Kaufman, an Iraq combat veteran who struggled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Matthew is the son of Julie Shelffo and John Margold, the SVP of Sales at AMI Entertainment, past AAMA Chairman and longtime veteran of the amusement industry.
The AAMCF would like to challenge its membership and the community to donate to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund in memory of Matthew Kaufman. Donations may be made online at www.fallenheroesfund.org/Donate.aspx or by mail at:
Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund"We want to honor Matthew's memory and to help military families in need," said Kirby, who is a senior executive at Betson Enterprises. "Our community is so generous -- we believe we will be able to make a difference for those that have sacrificed for our country."
