TERRE HAUTE, IN -- All State Manufacturing's Rudy Stakeman reports that his company's new powder coating line is up and running, with full production scheduled for early 2019.

All State manufactures and markets a wide variety of stands and service bars for coffee service, full-line vending condiment stand and microwave oven installations, and a new range of micromarket display stands. The new powder coating process, implemented as the result of a significant investment, provides a superior finish and expedites production.

The new powder coat line features a 180-ft. conveyor and an inline curing furnace, constructed by Midwest Finishing Systems (Mishawaka, IN). All State also has acquired the latest in powder gun technology from American Industrial Corp. (Greenwood, IN). The installation was accomplished in an unused area of the plant, and had minimal effect on continuing operations while in progress.

"We keep our customers in mind with everything we do at All State," said plant manager Chris Higginbotham, a 45-year veteran of All State and the vending industry. "The new powder coat line will give them a much stronger and uniform finish. We should also be able to shorten our manufacturing cycle because we will no longer need to wait for paint to dry."

Sales manager Sandra Faulkenberry observed that she is looking forward to the greater speed with which powder-coated applicances can be finished and readied for shipment. "I'm so excited that I won't have to tell customers they'll have to wait three days for paint to dry," she said. "Parts are dry and ready to be assembled as soon as they come out of the furnace.  This new   system has been long dreamt of and talked about – and now is becoming a reality. I couldn't be happier."

FINISHING TOUCH:Experts complete installation of new power coat finishing line at All State Manufacturing's Terre Haute, IN, plant. Powder coating is a finely-divided polymer, applied dry to metal parts and fused by heat into a smooth, tough, attractive finish. All State plans to replace paint with powder coating for its popular vending, OCs and micromarket stands, shelves and bars, starting early this year.
