All Star Services, based in Port Huron, Michigan, has become the first convenience services operator in the U.S. to go live with LightSpeed Automation's home delivery program, according to a press release. This feature allows LightSpeed Automation customers to offer home delivery of their product offerings.

Now that many office buildings are sitting empty due to COVID-19, the perks that were easy to provide before COVID, like work anniversaries and birthdays, are more difficult or nonexistent, according to the press release. With home delivery, All Star can offer their customers a way to recognize their employees, assist local charities with fund raising projects and provide the same snacks they had at the office in the comfort of their home.

"Like many of our fellow operators a 'new normal' was in place and we needed to find a way to service it. From the research that we've done, home delivery is here to stay," Duncan Smith, president and COO of All Star Services, said in the press release. "People have grown comfortable with having food delivered to their door and that is not going away even after the pandemic is long gone. This provides us with a chance to build a new revenue stream and a direct customer base no matter where they work".

"Once picked the order is shipped using Shopify's shipping module and you get the benefit of using their extremely low shipping rates," said David Marler, vice president of sales and marketing at LightSpeed. "You can literally get into the home delivery business in just a couple of days.
