PORT HURON, MI -- All Star Services is helping support the people of Flint, MI, with much-needed bottled water donations. During the month of February, the Port Huron, MI-based vending company will donate one bottle of water for each bottle purchased at its 30 micromarket locations. All Star's self-checkout markets are located in southeastern Michigan.
"Our hearts go out to the residents of Flint and we wanted to support them any way we could," said All Star president and chief executive Jeff Smith. "Bottled water is a resource many of us take for granted, and through this program, we are hoping to spread awareness of the crisis, secure clean water donations and inspire others to add their support."
All Star worked with customers at each of its sites to promote awareness of the program by posting notices at its checkout kiosks. There is even a button on the touchscreen for consumers to donate an entire case of water to the cause.
All Star plans to deliver its completed donation to the Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan on March 1.
Family owned and operated since 1963, All Star Services provides vending machines, micromarkets and coffee service to 31 counties in southeastern Michigan.
