Book vending machines will soon be available in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama Park and Recreation Authority locations, according to a WBRC Fox 6 News report.

The Tuscaloosa Public Library is teaming up with PARA to install the book vending machines and has already installed the first at the Faucett Brothers Activity Center in Northport, Alabama. The self-service cabinet allows people to browse, checkout and return items using their library cards.

"This is invaluable, it's long overdue," Sheree Miller, community member, told the news outlet. "Ever since the Northport branch of the library closed several years ago, Northport has had very little access to library books without going across the river. And you don't think that's a big deal, but for a lot of people, it is."
