Students at the University of Akron can now have food delivered to them by mobile robots under a partnership between the university, Aramark and Starship Technologies, according to the university website.

The robots deliver from campus eateries such as Starbucks, Qdoba, Panda Express, Auntie Anne's and Freshens. The service integrates with the student meal plan and also allows users to pay by credit card on the app.

Users access the Starship Deliveries app, choose food from a menu and drop a pin where they want their delivery sent. They can then view the delivery in progress on a map. When the robot arrives, they get an alert and can meet and unlock the robot through the app.

Each robot can hold the equivalent of about three shopping bags of goods.
