Airheads has unveiled Decoy Boy, a battery-powered robot designed to let adults join the Halloween fun by serving as a stand-in trick-or-treater, according to a press release.
Built to resemble a child in costume, the robot rides in an all-terrain wagon and can carry up to 15 pounds of candy. It features motion, sound and voice functions that allow it to say "trick or treat," deliver pre-recorded phrases and even activate a "tantrum mode" or "persuasion dial" for extra candy.
"Halloween should be fun for everyone, no matter your age or background," Chris Borges, brand director for Perfetti Van Melle, the maker of Airheads, said in the release. "So we built the Decoy Boy to give anyone a way to embrace the spooky season and stock up on Airheads with a little extra flair and fun."
Available in ghost, wizard and Frankenstein designs, Decoy Boy reflects growing consumer interest in playful robotics and interactive experiences that blend novelty, nostalgia and smart technology.
