Tadweer Group, a sustainable waste management company, has installed 25 reverse vending machines in high foot traffic locations across Abu Dhabi, according to a Gulf News report. Tadweer Group has partnered with various government and private agencies to launch the RVMs.

Using the RVMs, the public can deposit empty plastic bottles and aluminum cans in return for rewards. The machine identifies the type of object deposited, crushes it to maximize space and sorts it for recycling. Users often receive money or points in return.

"By making recycling options more convenient, we are confident that we will not only enrich our visitors' experiences but will also instill the right values within the community to adopt such practices in their daily lives," Rasha Kablawi, director of corporate communication for Sinyar Holding and spokesperson for Umm Al Emarat Park, told the news outlet.
