365 Retail Markets's PicoCooler adds AI-assisted grab-and-go

365 Retail Markets has launched PicoCooler Vision, a combination of computer vision and artificial intelligence that ensures customers are charged for exactly what they take from the smart cooler, according to a Tradestation press release.

PicoCooler's five shelves support capacity needs for high volume locations while also offering the same footprint as a vending machine. Without the need to scan or vend, PicoCooler Vision allows consumers to freely shop the shelves independently and with confidence they will be billed for the appropriate items.

"365 is seeing smart coolers and cabinets replacing vending machines in droves because of the sales uplift operators have been able to capture. Operators have reported revenue of up to twelve times that of a traditional vending machine, because of the higher value merchandise and frictionless consumer experience these solutions provide," Boris Amegadjie, Chief Product Officer for 365 Retail Markets, said in the press release.
