Arabica coffee prices are expected to decline in response to expanded production while Robusta prices will increase on account of rising consumer demand, according to a Global Trade Magazine report.
The average annual Arabica price is expected to drop by about 2% year-on-year to $4.2 per kg, as Robusta will increase by 2% to $2 per kg, according to an October World Bank forecast. Production growth for Arabica is expected to be especially strong in Brazil.
The Robusta is expected to increase on account of consumers seeking inexpensive alternatives to Arabica.
