MERRIAM, KS -- Treat America Food Services has announced that it will change its name to Company Kitchen. The change will be implemented over the remainder of this calendar year.

Founded in 1987, Treat America provides full-line vending and office coffee service to clients in Kansas City, Wichita, Indianapolis, Omaha and Des Moines. The privately held operation also manages more than 120 onsite dining facilities.

According to the company, its new name reflects its increasing application of the Company Kitchen ecosystem across all its lines of business, as well as deeper operating integration with its Company Kitchen micromarket operating partners.

"As we invest in brand development and consumer and client engagement tools, we need a single identity that embodies our emphasis on employee benefit, health and wellness and continuous innovation," said chief executive John Mitchell Jr. "We are committed to the Company Kitchen brand, and will continue to invest heavily to promote it."

The corporate cafeterias the company operates will be referred to as CK Cafés. Company Kitchen micromarkets will become CK Markets. And CK Vending, CK Coffee and CK Catering will also be under the umbrella of the Company Kitchen parent brand.

Company Kitchen also has announced a reorganization of its senior leadership. John Barnes has been named chief operating officer and will oversee all the distribution (CK Vending), onsite (CK Café) and operator partner (CK Market) businesses. Jim Mitchell becomes chief information officer, responsible for software engineering, IT support and analytics. Bill Pellien is now chief customer officer, leading sales and marketing activities.

"We are changing our organization structure to align with our unified approach to the market," Mitchell said. "Our objective is to fully integrate with our operating partners and to provide our clients with a unified service offering, which they can customize based on their specific workplace foodservice needs."
