FRAMINGHAM, MA -- Staples today announced the launch of Staples Studio, a fresh take on coworking for small businesses, entrepreneurs and commuters, now open in three Massachusetts Staples retail locations. Membership benefits include unlimited access to refreshments in stocked community kitchens and meeting rooms.
The company said it established the new Staples Studio concept, with the first three locations in Brighton, Danvers and Norwood, MA, to foster an environment where businesses can focus on creating, collaborating and connecting in shared workspaces and private or shared offices. Staples Studio is located inside Staples retail stores to give members access to the supplies and services they may need, along with unlimited access to a kitchen filled with free coffee, tea and snacks and meeting rooms.
"Staples has evolved alongside our customer from a place intended for simply purchasing supplies to an environment designed to help small businesses flourish through community and solutions," said Staples chief executive of U.S. retail Mike Motz. "Many of our customers are small business owners, side-gig enthusiasts or have jobs that keep them mobile. We have thoughtfully designed Staples Studio to be an ecosystem of resources for businesses in a connected environment that will allow our coworking members to focus on what they do best."
Other membership benefits include podcasting studio access, access to any Staples Studio location at no extra charge, 500 color-printed business cards, Wi-Fi and unlimited black-and-white printing.
When members sign up for three months by July 31, they'll receive an additional three months of membership for free. Plus, members receive 10% off all in-store purchases for 12 months.
Open houses will be held at all three of the current Staples Studio locations where prospective members can enjoy refreshments, raffles, tours of the space and networking opportunities.
Open house times for each location are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. as follows: June 18 in Danvers, MA; June 19 in Norwood, MA; and June 20 in Brighton, MA.
The launch of Staples Studio follows the introduction of Pro Services in Staples' flagship Brighton store, a resource center designed to equip small businesses with the onsite guidance and expertise needed to tackle business challenges at every phase of growth.
With Pro Services, customers have access to on-site expert consultation from Thryv, Rocket Lawyer, Vensure, Simplecast, Fundera, IdentoGO, LogMeIn, partners in the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce among other resources.
