PURCHASE, NY – PepsiCo Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire BFY Brands, the maker of PopCorners snacks. Upon closing, BFY Brands will become part of PepsiCo's Frito-Lay North America division. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The addition of BFY Brands will expand Frito-Lay's snacking portfolio and further deliver on its Winning with Purpose vision to offer consumers more positive nutritious options.

"BFY Brands offers distinctive products that deliver the great taste and ingredients consumers are looking for," said PepsiCo Foods North America chief executive Steven Williams. "Their production capabilities will support the growth of our existing, more-nutritious snack brands."

The original PopCorners line of snacks, popular in vending and micromarkets, are made with non-GMO corn and are popped, not fried and contain no gluten or nuts. Popcorners Flex Protein Crisps Made with plant-based protein from soybean and cassava. Each serving contains 90 to 100 calories and 10g. of protein. Rounding out the line is Flourish Veggie Crisps, with 100 to 120 calories per serving and vital nutrients from superfood vegetables.
