CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association has announced that the next installment in its micromarket seminar series will be held on June 14 at Vistar's new Retail Central near the Memphis, TN, airport. The event will be led by Dr. Michael Kasavana, NAMA's endowed professor emeritus at Michigan State University (East Lansing, MI).
The educational program will illuminate the key aspects of operating profitable micromarkets. Topics will include merchandising (product selection and category management); operations (warehousing, routes, field service and finance); and technology (market cards and other payment systems); promotions; and menu engineering. It also will include best-practice scenarios and will provide ample networking opportunities with peers.
The registration fee is $149 for NAMA members and $299 for nonmembers. Click here to learn more.
Vistar Retail Central is located in Southaven, MS, about 10 minutes from the Memphis airport and just across the state line. The new facility is an automated parcel distribution center that permits the product distributor to adjust and increase its capacity according to market demands. Southaven was selected as the site because of its proximity to major parcel carrier hubs and inbound logistics lanes. According to Vistar, this will allow for significant enhancement to product availability and outbound order shipping capacity.
