Lavit Appoints Former Mars Drinks Prexy Xavier Unkovic To Board

NEW YORK CITY -- Xavier Unkovic, former president of Mars Drinks and current president of San Francisco's Amy's Kitchen, has joined Lavit LLC's board of directors.

As global president of Mars Drinks, and previously as regional president of its single-serve hot drinks division, Unkovic was instrumental in the development and marketing of Mars's Flavia machines, Alterra Coffee Roasters coffees, Bright Tea Co. teas and Dove hot chocolate products. Part of the Mars organization for more than 25 years, he left in April.

Lavit's single-serve Cooler Water Coolers dispense chilled, filtered, still or sparkling water,  and allow users to prepare flavored drinks using the company's proprietary aluminum EcoCaps. Lavit says it has installed more than 1,000 of the coolers in commercial locations throughout the U.S. since their they rolled out in 2015.

"Lavit is the real deal in the cold single-serve beverage space," Unkovic said. "I welcomed this board appointment because the company has only scratched the surface of its potential. I look forward to collaborating with Lavit management and supporting the company's development and planning efforts."

Another notable Lavit board member is Chris Stevens, the former head of sales and marketing, and one of the earliest employees, at Keurig.
