PHOENIX -- Inventure Foods Inc. has expanded its existing kettle-cooked potato chip manufacturing capacities to add four new 300-pound commercial kettles and processing equipment to its Bluffton, IN, manufacturing facility. The company said the move increases kettle-cooked capacity by 50%, resulting in an additional 100,000 lbs. of finished product a week.
Inventure Foods said the new kettle lines, which go live this month, allow the company to keep pace with growing demand for its "better-for-you" line of Boulder Canyon Authentic Foods' potato chips. The brand uses olive, avocado, and coconut oils, as well as organic potatoes that are kettle-cooked in small batches and contain no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
Phoenix-based Inventure manufactures Boulder-branded snacks from facilities in Goodyear, AZ, and Bluffton, IN. The Goodyear plant has historically been the hub for kettle-cooked potato chips, while Bluffton has manufactured extruded and other snacks.
Inventure also owns and operates fruit-processing facilities in Washington, Oregon and Georgia.
