SAN DIEGO, CA -- Fresh Healthy Vending International Inc. said it has installed its 50th corporate-owned micromarket. Company-owned installations are new focal points for the five-year-old firm, which previously concentrated on selling vending machine franchises.
FHV's micromarkets are customized for an iOS operating system using an iPad tablet for scanning and purchasing products. Customers can also use a customized e-wallet and loyalty app for mobile payments and NFC options such as Apple Pay, PayPal and Google Wallet.
The "Fresh"-branded self-checkout stores stock sandwiches, salads, wraps, gluten-free and paleo meals, cold pressed juices and frozen products, among other "healthy" convenience food and sundry items.
Fresh Healthy Vending's corporate-owned micromarkets are located at Fox Sports San Diego and the San Diego Padres headquarters, car dealerships Penske Hyundai and Ball Mitsubishi, and real estate agencies Keller Williams and BioMed Realty, and the El Cajon Police Department, among other locations.
Chief executive Art Budman said FHV plans to install more corporate-owned micromarkets across the country by targeting national accounts. The company launched its micromarket operations program in its hometown of San Diego, CA.
