SAN DIEGO -- Fresh Healthy Vending International Inc. said it secured 115 new locations for placement of its vending machines and micromarkets across the nation in December.
Eleven of those contracts were for Fresh Healthy Vending's corporate-owned micromarket operating division in San Diego. The healthy vending biz-op said it is currently operating micromarkets in 20 locations and has approximately 15 new locations pending installation.
FHV chief executive Art Budman said he's confident that this is a suitable sampling for its franchisees to see the performance of its micromarkets in both retail and office environments as it extends the opportunity to operate the self-checkout stores to them in 2015.
Budman said educational facilities were the predominant locations it secured in December on the heels of passage of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Smart Snacks in School regulation. Fresh Healthy Vending's new website platform, www.freshandhealthy.org, caters to the new USDA guidelines.
