Flowers Introduces Four Limited-Edition Tastykake Summertime Snacks

PHILADELPHIA -- Flowers Foods is now offering four new single-serve Tastykake snack items for the summer season. The limited-edition varieties include two Kandy Kakes and two Mini Donuts. They rolled out on May 23 and will be available until Aug. 8.

Inspired by warm-weather favorites, the Kandy Kakes are offered in key lime and orange crème flavors. The key lime variety features white coated graham cracker sponge cake with a key lime crème filling; the orange crème type consists of white-coated sponge cake with an orange crème filling. They are packed in 2-oz., 3-ct. see-through wrappers.

The Mini Donuts are offered in summer-appropriate orange and blueberry flavors; both feature a traditional powdered-sugar coating. They're supplied in 3-oz., 6-ct. packages.

The Mini Donuts and the Kandy Kakes both ship 72 packages per case, with an estimated retail price of $1.79.

Well known to mid-Atlantic snack enthusiasts since 1914, Tastykake offers a complete line of snack cakes, pies, cookies and doughnuts. They're available in supermarkets and other retail outlets throughout the East Coast, South and Southwest. The brand is celebrated for its classic Krimpets and Juniors, and new entries such as Mini Cupcakes. Tastykake has been a Flowers Food brand since 2011.
