HICKORY, NC -- Breakroom Provisions Co. Inc. reports that it is making manual inventory management a thing of the past by replacing it with technology that delivers accurate ordering data quickly and efficiently.
"Traditional replenishment can require countless hours of labor, yet the likelihood of a manual miscalculation and consequent out-of-stocks is incredibly high," Breakroom Provisions pointed out. Accordingly, it has worked with ECR Software (Boone, NC) to develop a solution: DemandFill Order Assist.
Based on a solution proven in large retail environments, DemandFill now is overcoming inventory obstacles for micromarket and vending machine operators. The software automatically builds suggested orders based on the application of complex forecasting rules to real-time data which, according to Breakroom Provisions, ensures accurate pick orders.
This method of automated inventory replenishment saves hours in labor and dramatically reduces lost revenue from out-of-stocks, over-stocks, and manual error, the company explained. It is designed to forecast fluctuations in sales by analyzing historical sales data, ensuring that markets have the optimal inventory balance.
One operator who is making good use of this capability is C.J. Carter with Kimble's Food by Design, a full-service vending operator in LaGrange, GA. Breakroom Provisions reported that he is always looking for ways improve efficiency in all areas of his business. So, when he encountered inventory balancing challenges in factories where employees' schedules varied according to production needs, he sought a solution. DemandFill was able to forecast and adjust to that sales fluctuation by retrieving and analyzing historical sales data stored in the system.
"DemandFill has allowed me to find the 'sweet spot' in my inventory, something that every supplier aims to do," Carter said. "I am able to provide my customers with better service and keep their markets efficiently stocked."
Breakroom Provisions noted that DemandFill can be customized to a micromarket operator's preferences and can be combined with other replenishment methods already available, including Min/Max, Replacement and Maintain Constant Level, to make inventory replenishment systematic, accurate and fast.
The micromarket manufacturer will demonstrate its latest technology in booth No. 1720 at the National Automatic Merchandising Association's OneShow in Las Vegas (April 22-24).
